Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's tomorrow's scheduled visit to Tungipara in Goplaganj has been suspended due to inclement weather, BSS reports.
"The visit of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to Tungipara in Goplaganj slated for tomorrow has been suspended due to inclement weather," PM's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim said.
Sheikh Hasina was scheduled to go to Tungipara tomorrow to pay homage to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman after her reelection as the Awami League president.
Sheikh Hasina was reelected president of Awami League unanimously in the 20th national council of the party on October 22, 23 while Obaidul Quader was elected as its new general secretary.
This is the eighth time Sheikh Hasina, the elder daughter of Bangabandhu, was elected as the head of Awami League, one of the oldest political parties of the subcontinent.
Bangladesh Awami League (AL) has also suspended its tomorrow's programme to place wreaths at the mazar of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman due to inclement weather.
"A delegation of the newly elected Awami League Central Working Committee was scheduled to go to Tungipara on Sunday to place wreaths at the mazar of Bangabandhu but the programme has been postponed due to inclement weather," said an AL press release.
