A Sub-Inspector of police was killed in a road accident on Dhaka-Sylhet highway in front of Ashuganj Thana in the district on Tuesday morning. The deceased was Nasir Uddin Sharif, 42, hails from Hathazari on Chittagong.
Additional Superintendent of Police (SP) of Brahmanbaria Zahidul Islam said that the accident occurred as a speedy bus of ‘Royal Service’ ran over Sharif around 8:45 am while he coming out of the police station riding the motorcycle, leaving him dead on the spot.
The body was sent to the District Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Police seized the bus from the spot.
