Reporter: Election symbol allotted among the 17 candidates in the upcoming election of Bijoynagar Upazila. May 19, the newly formed Bijoynagar Upazila Parishad election. Last Sunday, Returning Officer and Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Mohammad Azad sallal allocated the election symbols among 17 candidates of Chairman, Vice Chairman and Female Vice Chairman. Chairman candidates are Upazila Awami League General Secretary and Awami League-backed candidate Advocate Tanvir Bhuiyan (Ink pot – pen), Upazila BNP general secretary and BNP-backed candidate Shariful Islam Liton (Telephone), BNP rebel candidate Engineer Kazi Rafiqul Islam (Cup – Saucer), Upazila Jatiya Party General Secretary Farid Haque (shrimp), Independent candidate Abdus Sattar (Pineapple) and Shaheed Siraji (Motor bike).
Vice Chairman candidates are Awami League candidate Mohammad Babul Akhter (Book), BNP-backed candidate Mokhlesur Rahman Liton (Tubewell), BNP rebel candidate Zahirul Islam (Aircraft), Jatiya Party Zakaria Ahmed (Parakeet Birds), Upazila Workers Party Secretary journalist Deepak Choudhary Bappy (Mike), Independent candidate Mohammad Ali Nawaz (Lock), Sajarula Haq Sujan (Glasses) and Redwanul Bari Siraji (Electric bulb).
Female Vice Chairman candidates are Upazila women Awami League General Secretary and Awami League-backed candidate Faizun Nahar Tuni (Duck), BNP candidate Mariam Begum (Pitcher) and Independents Selina Akhter (Football).
